  • Convenient parking arrangement — An off-site garage with valet delivery lets guests with rental cars park securely for a nightly fee without hassle.

Worth weighing

5 to weigh
  • Facilities rating lower than other aspects — Some guests found the facilities basic or with room for improvement, such as pool cleanliness and sunbed availability.
  • Rooms can feel compact — Some rooms, particularly triples and doubles, are described as small, with limited space between beds and desks, though beds are comfortable.
  • Limited language support at reception — Reception staff speak only Spanish, which may be a hurdle for non-Spanish-speaking guests.
  • No on-site parking — Parking is available only in a nearby garage at an extra cost, not on the hotel premises.
  • Potential noise from courtyard socializing — Evening gatherings in the courtyard can be audible from rooms, though guests noted they quiet down at a reasonable hour.

“A beautiful colonial building houses this small, delightful hotel. We stayed in the Presidential suite and found it very comfortable and quiet. It is walking distance to all the interesting sites in Oaxaca and the hotel can arrange trips to Monte Alban and Mitla. We were lucky enough to see the Easter processions. The breakfasts are delicious and the swimming pool very welcome.”

“The rooms are well-equipped and tastefully decorated with interesting interior design. Lots of facilities like an iron and ironing board, a work desk, and a TV set.”

“Delicious breakfast with plenty of options, a pleasant and fairly clean place. Very good, courteous staff with smiling faces. Great service overall, plus a heated pool area. The most important - a great and stunning location close to a night club.”

“Enjoyed our 2-week stay at the charming CasAntica very much. It is very conveniently located in the historical center, a couple of blocks from both the Zocolo and the Alcala walking district leading to the beautiful Santo Domingo church. Met my friend in Oaxaca and we shared a nice junior suite (a larger room with 2 double beds) on the 2nd floor overlooking the courtyard restaurant. The room was very clean, the beds new and comfortable, and the air conditioning appreciated. We were sheltered from street noise and typical Oaxaca political protests, but could hear festive socializing when larger groups gathered in the courtyard in the evening. They typically went to their rooms at a reasonable time and it wasn't a problem. The desk staff, housekeepers, and bellmen were all very nice and helpful. The onsite restaurant/bar was good and convenient when we didn't feel like venturing out. The restaurant staff provided very good service. The pool looked great and was well used, but we never got around to it. We had a rental car for visiting the many interesting markets and ruins in outlying villages. The hotel has an arrangement with a garage for a nightly fee. When you want the car you merely tell the desk and the car is delivered to the hotel, and when you return, you leave it in their saved spot and it's taken back to the garage. Very convenient.”

“The location is perfect, right in the heart of Oaxaca. Our Presidential Suite was spacious and beautifully decorated, providing plenty of room for our family of five. The staff were friendly, and we had everything we needed. We loved the unique layout of the hotel, which used to be a 16th century convent, giving it a one-of-a-kind charm. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and we enjoyed breakfast there daily due to the fantastic service and quality of food.”
